The Birdie Lab

Coach Matt Gibson grew up with the Game of Golf. He played junior golf in Southern California where he got to play in a tournament against Tiger Woods at age 11. Matt played basketball for his teams in junior high and high school but kept jobs in the golf industry from picking the range for free golf to working in cart barns and caddying. He went on to play on the men’s varsity golf team in college where he got a 2 year professional golf management certification. After college, Matt worked on his game while he caddied professionally. He got to caddie for many famous people and even for PGA Tour players, John Daly and Scott McCarron. When he felt ready, Matt started playing professional golf on mini-tours against guys like Bubba Watson, Boo Weekley and Jason Gore for 3 years. 

  After his playing and caddying career, Matt decided it was time to help other golfers reach their goals. So he started coaching and teaching private lessons. He also coached for the college team that he used to play for and for local high school teams in California and Northern Colorado. Matt currently uses his experience and knowledge of the game to teach golf lessons and clinics.
